A. The THG-51EC is designed to provide handicap accessibility in conjunction with
a full-height turnstile while maintaining a similar appearance.
B. The THG-51EC consists of a gate frame with lock and gate swing panel.
C. Dimensions are 86" H x, 38" W. Sizes may vary according to requirements.
D. Gate operates in one direction only. The gate is self-closing via a transom
mounted hydraulic closer.
MATERIALS: All materials meet the ASTM standards as set forth by the materials industry.
A. The gate frame is constructed from 2" square, 11 ga. carbon steel tubing. The
frame is 86" high to match the turnstile.
B. The gate frame also contains the 24 VDC doorstrike used to lock the gate.
A magnetic lock is also available.
C. The gate barrier is constructed of 2" square, 11 ga. steel tubing with round steel
horizontal members. The gate barrier is 83-1/2" high and 34" wide.
D. A hydraulic overhead closer returns the gate swing panel to the locked position
after use.
FABRICATION:
A. The gate frame consists of carbon steel tubing welded to a mounting flange at the
base. The 24 VDC doorstrike or magnetic lock is recess mounted into the vertical
post. A one inch hole for wiring is provided through the mounting flange.
B. The gate barrier is fabricated by welding 4 sections of 2" square carbon steel
tubing. Two top and bottom horizontal components are welded to the two
side sections. Round steel tubing is welded to the vertical members to fill in
the opening. All welds are ground smooth.
C. A stainless steel piano hinge attaches to the gate barrier at the swing side of
the frame assembly. This allows free and easy movement of the gate barrier
in one direction.
FINISHES:
All carbon steel items are hot dipped galvanized with a minimum 3 mil thickness.
INSTALLATION:
A. A level concrete floor is required to ensure proper installation. Recommended
depth is at least 4 inches.
B. The gate is to be aligned in its proper position prior to any work beginning.
A gap of 1/8" to 1/4" between the lock section of the gate frame and gate
barrier is suggested. Once the gate is aligned, the 2 mounting holes at each
mounting flange must be marked on the concrete surface.
C. The posts can be installed by using a minimum 3/8" x 3" wedge anchor for
each mounting hole.
D. Electrical connections are made through the base of the latching post to the
doorstrike or magnetic lock.
E. After floor mounting, the gate frame needs to be braced at the top to prevent
unwanted lateral movement.
